298 NDA cadets of the 130th course awarded JNU degrees

A total of 298 cadets were conferred the degrees, which included 110 cadets in Science stream, 124 cadets in Computer Science stream and 64 cadets in Social Science stream.

Cadets of the 130th course of NDA were awarded their BA in Social Science and BSc in Science and Computer Science degrees of JNU on Monday. Anil Saha-srabuddhe, chairman of AICTE and former director of College of Engineering, Pune, (COEP), was present on the occasion.

A total of 298 cadets were conferred the degrees, which included 110 cadets in Science stream, 124 cadets in Computer Science stream and 64 cadets in Social Science stream. These cadets included six from friendly foreign countries.

In his convocation address, Sahasrabuddhe told the passing out cadets, “Degrees are awarded to many young men and women every year in all universities of India. In my opinion, your degrees are very special. These are not merely meant for getting jobs, but a certificate to protect the motherland. The technology in general is changing rapidly. Technology in the armed forces changes at an even faster rate.”

Divisional Cadet Captain Rohit Joshi won the Commandant’s silver medal and COAS trophy presented by General K Sundarji for coming first in the Science stream with the highest Final Grade Point Average (FGPA).     Can't they be given Delhi University degrees instead of JNU? I mean, these soldiers deserve the highest respect - why give them degree from a tainted University.
