A 26-year-old former BPO employee fell to his death under mysterious circumstances from the third floor of a residential complex in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka North area, police said. The victim, identified as Saurabh Ghai, was naked when he fell from the terrace of the flat, said police sources.

The incident took place Sunday evening when Ghai, a resident of Uttam Nagar, came to meet Amit Puri at his residence. Sources said they had got acquainted on Facebook two weeks ago and this was their first face-to-face meeting. DCP (southwest) Surendra Kumar said Puri had been questioned. “We are trying to establish how Ghai fell off the building,” he said.

Police sources said Ghai reached Puri’s residence on Sunday afternoon. Puri, who lived alone, had brought some alcohol but Ghai refused to drink, police said. Puri, a call centre employee, told police that some time later, when he was in another room, he heard a loud thud, sources said. He rushed downstairs and called the police. Ghai was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
