TWO BIKE-BORNE youths snatched a gold chain of a woman in Phase VII Saturday and fled, the police said. Santosh Kumari, a Phase VII resident, was sweeping the floor outside her house Saturday morning.

She told the police that a young man who had covered his face with a woollen cap snatched her gold chain and fled. She told the police that another man was waiting on a motorcycle a short distance away and they sped away. Santosh raised an alarm after the incident following which her neighbours gathered at the spot but it was too late.

This is the third snatching incident in the area in the past 20 days. Earlier, in a similar case, two bike-borne youths had snatched the purse and cellphone of a girl who was staying in a paying guest facility in Phase VII. Meanwhile, the police said a probe was on. Officers said that they are analysing footage of CCTV cameras which were installed in the locality.
