Three snatching cases reported in Chandigarh

Police said they have registered cases and investigation is on.

Three snatching incidents have been reported in the city in the last 24 hours.

Police said they have registered cases and investigation is on. No arrests have been made so far.

On Thursday evening, two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a bag containing Rs 2 lakh from a Sector 27 resident near Masjid Old Ropar Road in Manimajra.

In the second incident, a woman alleged that an unknown person on motorcycle tried to snatch her bag from near her residence in Sector 40 on Wednesday. The victim has been identified as Satinder Kaur.

In the third incident, another woman, Shanta Sharma, alleged that a motorcycle borne youth sped away after snatching her bag containing Rs 1,400 and documents near Badheri village on Wednesday evening.

The city has witnessed an increase in snatching incidents.
