Police have made fool-proof security arrangements a day before the farmers’ protest on Monday.

As many as 2,500 police personnel have been deputed in the city to stop the farmers from entering Chandigarh from the Mohali side.

Some farmer unions of Punjab had given a call of protest at Matka Chowk in Sector 17 on Monday over their long pending demands. The police said the farmers would not be allowed to enter the city, as it creates chaos owing to which the public suffer.

The Mohali boundary is also sealed by the police at some places. The road leading towards Sector 53 has been closed as the farmers are expected to enter the city through this road.
