Punjab: NCC cadets win five medals

Cadets of the Chandigarh-based directorate of National Cadet Corps (NCC) have won five medals in a shooting competition held in West Bengal. Additional Director General of the directorate Major Gen Balbir Singh gave away prizes to the winners on Sunday. Gold medal winners were given a cash prize of Rs 5000, while silver and bronze medal winners were given Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively. Col Manot Sharma, commanding officer of 2 Chandigarh NCC Battalion said cadets from 22 NCC directorates participated in the competition and 14 cadets of the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate have qualified for the national games.
