Vishwas Pandhare,Deputy commissioner of Police (traffic),on Saturday advocated the use of advertising as a strong medium to spread awareness on traffic safety.

Speaking at an event to announce the newly elected body of Regional Advertising Marketing Association (RAMA),he said,“Effective advertising not only changes the commercial equation but also helps change society.”

He said creativity has no boundaries and those blessed with this inborn talent cannot be stopped from expressing their minds freely.

Newly elected president of RAMA Sanjay Satalkar said new technology in advertising can help change the industry in many ways.

“We need to tie-up with European,American and other foreign advertising agencies to bring new ideas in the country,” he said.

The members of the newly elected body for 2013-14 are Sanjay Satalkar,President,Rutuparna Deshpande,Secretary, Dilip Kumar Kulkarni,Vice-President,Amol Bapat,Joint Secretary,Anjan Barve,Treasurer,Rahul Shiledar,Committee Chairman,and members Soumendu Kuber,Anish Jog,Ashish Parekh,Mahesh Ghorpade and Rushikesh Khasigwale.
