Two youths were killed on the spot when the bike they were riding rammed into a divider and then a roadside tree near Bhakti Shakti square early on Saturday.

Two youths were killed on the spot when the bike they were riding rammed into a divider and then a roadside tree near Bhakti Shakti square early on Saturday. One of the deceased worked with an automobile company while was other was searching for a job in the city.

Nigdi police have identified the deceased at Sameer Munish Bhat (25),who hailed from Delhi and was residing in Bijlinagar near Chinchwad,and his friend Puneet Vibodkumar Ghildiyal (24) from Dehradun,who was staying with Sameer for the last few days.

Sub-inspector P V Bhosale said,“The two had come to Bhakti Shakti chowk around 3.45 am. Prima facie,it seems that they were on the wrong side of the road. They first hit the divider and then rammed into a roadside tree. Both were not wearing helmets.” Police said both had suffered severe head injuries.

Cops said the bodies were handed over to kin after a post-mortem.
