State Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat on Friday said very soon Haveli tehsildars office will be trifurcated.
The issue has been agreed in principle and it is just a matter of implementation. It should happen soon, Thorat told Newsline.
The issue of trifurcation of the office that also caters to parts of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad has been pending before the state government. Thorat had assured trifurcation of the office before the municipal corporation and zilla parishad elections but the plan could not be implemented.
He said the trifurcation of offices has been done in many districts in the state for better management of areas.
There are 158 villages, nineAssembly constituencies,two-and-a-half Lok Sabha constituencies and two corporations in Haveli taluk. With the present office having just 11 clerks, five assistant clerks, three naib tehsildars and one tehsildars, things were getting difficult to manage, said an official.
The trifurcation is to ensure smooth operation of the office that caters to the largest taluk in the district. As the office was battling issues of illegal mining and rampant illegal constructions, the proposal to trifurcate the office was put forward to lessen the burden.
