Toll booth firing: Cops arrest three persons,car traced

The police said a group of persons,who had come to the toll plaza in a car,got into an argument with the employees at the spot over payment of the toll amount before firing

The police on Thursday arrested three persons for allegedly opening fire on an employee at Khed-Shivapur toll plaza,on Tuesday. The car used by the accused has also been traced,the police said

The three suspects,Harshad Dhruv Dhanwade,Atul Ashok Pale and Prashant Dattatray Dhanwade would be produced in court on Friday,said Additional SP Ravindrasinh Pardeshi.

The police said a group of persons,who had come to the toll plaza in a car got into an argument with the employees at the spot over payment of the toll amount. One of them allegedly got out of the car and shot at Suresh Balu Khomne (25),resident of Dhagawdi in Bhor. Khomne was later admitted to a hospital.

Pardeshi said,“Bharati Vidyapeeth police have traced the car that was used by the suspects.”

A case of attempt to murder was registered at Rajgad police after the incident. The police said the assailants had fled towards Katraj. The police recovered an empty cartridge from the crime scene.
