Youve seen them host shows on television, and now,you get to see them live on stage. Different stages will have different VJs to add a flavour of their own. Each stage is being designed by a different designer, and will have a completely different look and feel to it. We wanted to take that further this year, and so,theres a different VJ for each stage, who is working together with the designer so that even the visual aspects on the screens reflect the design for the stage, says Vijay Nair,CEO,Only Much Louder (OML).
Since many bars and clubs in the city unofficially organised after-parties for the festival last year,OML has decided to partner with a club to organise official after-parties this year. After the festival winds up at 10 pm on October 18,19 and 20,the music will continue at a venue that will be announced ahead of the festival. The after-party is scheduled to last till past midnight so that music lovers can let their hair down and drown themselves in music on all three days.
The festival introduces two brand new stages this year. Over the years,Bacardi NH7 Weekender has featured some incredible headlining acts from Imogen Heap in Pune in 2011 to Megadeth in Delhi in 2012 and Sean Kuti in Pune in 2012. This year, all these incredible acts will be united under one roof. Bacardi Arena is an all-new stage dedicated to fantastic headlining performances, says Nair. It will also feature the best of metal and rock acts such as Pentagram and Scribe,Mumbai-based hardcore experimental band Skindred, and a Welsh rock band from Newport.
The Red Bull Tour Bus is another stage to watch out for this year. The bus, which transforms into a stage for the event, will feature a specially curated set by hardcore band and overall entertainers Party Scribe from Mumbai, popular post punk act The Supersonics from Kolkata, and the four-piece all-girl band from Delhi,The Vinyl Records.
Less is moreSurprise Act
Back from his performance at the White House, where he performed at a function organised by President Barack Obama,Karsh Kale has been busy getting together popular indie musicians to perform with him for a special act at the festival this year. The multi-instrumentalist DJ and composer has managed to bring together a set of musicians from across India, who will create a special set of mashups and revisit old songs. This act is kept as a surprise for the finale of the festival in Pune.
The event will be held at Laxmi Lawns, near Magarpatta City, from October 18 to 20,3 pm to 10 pm
