Teenaged boy booked for hitting stray dog

Police detained the 16-year-old boy and booked him under sections 428 and 506 of the IPC.

A Class XI boy has been booked for allegedly beating a stray dog with a bat in Khesepark,Lohegaon,on Sunday evening. Renuka Prashant Kasabe (37),a resident of Khesepark,lodged the offence at Vimantal police station.

Police detained the 16-year-old boy on Monday and booked him under sections 428 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code,and sections of the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals Act,1960. Police said the boy was reportedly playing cricket when the dog barked at him. He then allegedly hit the dog,fracturing its leg.
