A speeding Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus killed a teenager who was riding a two-wheeler under the Paud Phata flyover on Karve Road on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tejas Dnyanesh Wanjale (18),a resident of Shobha Sankul,Dhananjay Society in Kothrud. Police have arrested driver Raju Vinayak Randhwa (35) of Daund on charges of negligent driving.
Police said Tejas was going to attend his computer class on his two-wheeler when the speeding bus knocked him down from his left side around 7.15 am on Karve Road. The impact was so severe that Tejas died on the spot.
Police said victim sparents reside in Delhi and have been informed about the mishap. Police said Tejas had given his HSC exams and had come to Pune only a few days back. He was living with his uncle and had joined computer course in the city. Assistant police inspector A D Walimbe is investigating the case.
Car hits 3 two-wheelers,driver arrested
A speeding car knocked down three two wheelers near Shanipar on Bajirao Road on Tuesday. Police have arrested the car driver. The driver has been identified as Nisarg Sanjay Shinde (25),a resident of Talawade. Police said Shinde was driving at a very high speed on Bajirao Road when he knocked down three parked two-wheelers near Shanipar around 8.45 pm. Traffic constable Shankar Kumbhar saw the incident and chased the car. Kumbhar managed to stop Shinde near Tulshibag and nabbed him. Aan offence of rash and negligent driving was registered against the driver.
