City-based band Blind Mountain will pay a tribute to the Oscar-winning artiste
With chart-topping hits such as Rolling in the deep,Someone like you and Skyfall that bagged the Oscar this year in the Best Original Song category,Adele has cemented her position in the music scene the world over. To celebrate her soul-stirring music,city-based band Blind Mountain will perform at Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday. The six-member band will perform chartbuster tracks from Adeles second studio album 21.
The tribute to Adele is done keeping the listeners in mind. We chose Adele because there are many people who listen and connect to her music. We wanted people to enjoy a live performance of the singers tracks rather than log on to YouTube to watch them. Our lead singer,Mrudula, has a broad vocal range and can do justice to Adeles songs, says Agnelo Picardo, the drummer, songwriter and manager of the band.
The musicians aim at keeping the score as close to the original as possible but will give a twist with drum beats and guitar to the solo songs that are originally only on the piano. We look forward to entertaining people with her most famous songs. If the event is successful,we would like to venture into performing her lesser-known tracks as well, says Picardo.
Talking about the band members,Picardo says,Guitarists Troydin Gomes and Abel K Zeliang have worked in Goa as musicians and composed radio jingles and songs. Joel Crasto plays the keyboard, while Crosby Fernandez handles bass. Together with Mrudula, the six of us form the core group but we also rope in others depending on the performance.
