Shop break-in: Safe with 8 kg silver ornaments stolen

In a case of a break-in in its literal sense,some unidentified burglars decamped with a safe containing about eight kg silver from a jewellery shop in Moshi by burrowing through a sidewall.

In a case of a break-in in its literal sense,some unidentified burglars decamped with a safe containing about eight kg silver from a jewellery shop in Moshi by burrowing through a sidewall.

Police said,the incident took place at Omkar Jewelers owned by Prashant Dahiwal. As per the complaint,burglars made a hole of three feet by three feet on the sidewall and fled with the safe which had eight kg of silver ornaments.

Police said that the thieves did not touch the silver idols of gods and goddesses kept in a small temple like structure inside the shop.

Staffers at the Bhosari MIDC police station said the CCTV and alarm system of the shop has not been working since last few days. DCP Shahaji Umap,ACP Sudhir Chougule,DP Patil Rajendra Kunte of MIDC police station and crime branch officer Balkrushna Kutwal and Sunil Pawar visited the spot.
