Two centuries and wins by huge margins were highlights of the day as Mahesh Bank and Mather & Platt registered impressive wins in the league matches of the ABIL Inter Corporate Cricket Champions Cup.
Naushad Shaikh and Saiprasad Kaimoni scored centuries for Mahesh Bank and Mather and Platt respectively on a day where both teams crossed the 200-run mark.
Naushads 111 runs in just 58 balls was studded with 10 fours and seven sixes. He shared a 118-run second wicket partnership with Mandar Bhandari (48).
After Bhandari returned to pavilion,Naushad combined well with Zaid Ustad and added 96 runs for the third wicket. Ustad remained unbeaten on 45 off 24 balls with two fours and five sixes.
Cypress began with confidence despite losing early wickets when Ranjit Pande provided hopes for them. He shared a sixth-wicket stand on 63 runs with Abhishek Parmar (14) in 41 balls,but towards the end ran out of overs and lost out 68 runs.
In the second match of the day,Mather & Platt won the toss and elected to bat and posted 213 for seven in the allotted 20 overs. Saiprasad Kaimoni smashed 114 runs in 57 balls that was studded with 11 fours and eight sixes.
In reply,Trigon Consultants were never in contention as they struggled to 99 for eight in 20 overs with Kiran Bhosale (4/9) and Sagar Sawant (2/18) shared the major part of the spoils.
