Sea Cadet Corps (SCC),INS Shivaji unit,celebrated its 18th Anniversary on Thursday.

Sea Cadet Corps (SCC),INS Shivaji unit,celebrated its 18th Anniversary on Thursday. As part of the celebrations, cadets displayed a host of activities including ceremonial parade,continuity drill,aerobics besides organising a cultural programmes. Commodore DS Chouhan,NM,Commanding Officer,INS Shivaji,was the chief guest.

The SCC is a volunteer organisation that offers an opportunity to youth for their all round development. Children from Maval,Khopli and Pimpri-Chinchwad have benefited over the years from this institution. The SCC training is aimed to instill the spirit of adventure in the art of watermanship and seafaring.

INS Shivaji has been providing all required support to SCC for many years. Commander KN Vashist,Gunnery Officer at INS Shivaji,is also the Commandant of SCC at the station.

Presently,as many as 222 boys and 180 girls in the age group between 11 and 17 years are the member of SCC.
