RSS march on Vijaya Dashmi: Routes rise from 7 to 39 this year

According to a press release issued by the Pune unit of RSS, the organisation has planned “Shivshakti Sangam” a massive gathering of swayamsevaks on January 3, 2016 at Marunji in Hinjewadi.

On the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi festival, as many as 7,000 Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists took out a march at 39 locations in the city.
Though the RSS has done this every year, till last year, it was taking out the march in only seven parts of the city.

According to a press release issued by the Pune unit of RSS, the organisation has planned “Shivshakti Sangam” a massive gathering of swayamsevaks on January 3, 2016 at Marunji in Hinjewadi.

The number of march routes was increased from seven to 39 as preparation for the “Shivshakti Sangam” which is considered to be the biggest gathering of RSS in Pune in which at least 1 lakh swayamsevaks from Western Maharashtra are expected to participate.

Meanwhile, along with the senior RSS functionaries, Sharadbhau Ghatpande, Ravindra Wanjarvadkar and BJP minister Girish Bapat were present at the SSPMS ground.

An RSS band paid respects to the statue of Shivaji Maharaj.

Dattatraya Dhankawade, mayor of Pune and NCP corporator, was also present on the occasion.

In Gokhale Nagar area, RSS activists performed Buddha Vandana at the local Buddha Vihar before starting the march.

Several local BJP leaders and corporators participated in the RSS march.
