Rly officials return lost bag containing Rs 2 lakh,gold ornaments to passenger

Shaha had left the bag in Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express in which he was travelling from Pune to Sangli with his wife.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and Pune division officials brought smile to the face of Sujeet Devendraprasad Shaha,34,a resident of Sangli,when they handed over his lost bag containing gold ornaments and Rs 2 lakh to him.

Shaha said he was travelling in Mumbai-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express from Pune to Sangli with his wife on Thursday. When the train reached Sangli,they deboarded the train. After the train left,they realised they forgot their bag inside the compartment. The bag contained two mobile phones,four gold rings,a gold chain and Rs 2 lakh in cash,he added.

Shaha approached the Sangli station master who quickly informed his counterpart in Miraj,the next halt for the train. Vilas Patil,Head Constable at Miraj station,swung into action after receiving the information from the station master. When the train reached Miraj station,Patil and an RPF personnel rushed to the H1 birth where they found the bag with the valuables and cash as claimed by Shaha.

The station manager then informed Shaha who came to Miraj and collected the bag after completing formalities. Shaha praised the quick response and support of RPF personnel and the station masters.
