As many as 224 students from Pune division were shocked when they accessed their Class XII results online on Thursday. They ended up getting a message that their results are on hold.

Many of these students along with their parents stormed the office of the state board’s Pune division at Shivajinagar.

When apprised of the issue, board’s Pune division secretary Pushpalata Pawar said an error either on part of colleges or the board might have resulted in students not getting their results. “Either the junior colleges concerned may not have informed us about internal marks of these students as per schedule or the data has been lost inadvertently by our offices,” Pawar said, adding that the error would be shortly rectified.

Sadhana Shirgaonkar,a student of Dr Shamrao Kalmadi Junior College told Newsline she was aghast on seeing ‘Your Result is Reserved’ on the official website while accessing her Class XII results. “I could not believe my eyes. For a moment,I thought I might have failed. I decided to approach the State Board for my results,” she said.

Archana Bokil, mother of Sarvesh whose results had been withheld, was amongst the worried parents present at board’s office.”My son is good at studies. He scored 92 per cent in Class X. The technical snag in accessing results has made him very nervous,” Archana said.

State board authorities said a few days back, there were more than 1,200 students whose results were kept on hold, and the number was brought down with help of colleges. Authorities said the 224 students would surely get their results on or before June 6,when marksheets are scheduled to be distributed through colleges.
