Queen Marys Technical Institute (QMTI) for disabled soldiers celebrated its 96th Foundation Day on Thursday. QMTI has been providing vocational training to disabled soldiers since 1917. During the function held in the Kargil Memorial Hall,the soldiers under training entertained the guests with songs and skits. Chief guest,Lt General Ashok Singh,GOC-in-C Southern Command,appreciated the institutes approach towards training deserving disabled soldiers. The Army commander said efforts made by the institute in conjunction with esteemed corporate and industrial houses in the city for on the job training was good initiative. This also gives an opportunity to the corporate and industrial sectors to acknowledge their Corporate Social Responsibility for a noble cause.
