Pune: Youth murdered in Viman Nagar

Police said that due to some dispute over a girl, Datta Pathare and his aides attacked Afan, Nabil and Karan with sharp weapons when they were talking to each other at the CCD chowk in Viman Nagar around 8 pm.

A group of youths attacked and murdered a 21-year-old Karan Motilal Dhavale and injured one Nabil Numan Mukrani (21), both residents of Sanjay Park slums in Viman Nagar on Wednesday evening, over an earlier dispute.

Nabil’s brother, Afan Mukrani (16), has lodged a complaint of murder in this case at the Vimantal police station. Police have accordingly booked Datta Pathare and his five aides under Sections 302, 307, 143, 147, 149, 504, 323 of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Arms Act. Police said that due to some dispute over a girl, Datta Pathare and his aides attacked Afan, Nabil and Karan with sharp weapons when they were talking to each other at the CCD chowk in Viman Nagar around 8 pm. The assault was so severe that Karan died on the spot, while Nabil was injured. Assistant police inspector P B Kolte is probing the case.
