Santosh Wakradkar of Galaxy Business Solutions won the men’s singles title in the fourth edition of the Cybage TT Clash, an inter-IT Table Tennis tournament, while Saiee Jainabadkar of HSBC emerged victorious in the women’s singles title. The tournament was organised by Cybage Software Pvt. Ltd.
This year, 35 IT companies from Pune participated in the tournament held at the Cybage headquarters in Kalyani Nagar. Wakradkar defeated Akshay Gadikar of Zensar (4-1) 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7. In the men’s doubles, Ashok Sabha-pondit and Suyog Patil of Synechron overcame the challenge from Vivek Kolte and Arpit Gupta of BNY Mellon (3-1) 11-5, 11-6, 6-11, 11-6.
Jainabadkar emerged victorious against Sai Bakre of MSC Software (3-2) 11-8, 6-11, 12-10, 9-11, 14-12. In the mixed doubles, Jatin Thakkar and Jainabadkar won against Shama Patni-Adhikari and Rushabh Vora of Persistent (3-0) 11-5, 11-7, 11-6. In the 40+ men’s singles, Suhas Chavan of Medialake Global Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Mumbai) trounced Sunil Shah of K Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (3-0) 11-8, 11-7, 11-7.
The chief guest of the tournament was Bhushan Thakur, Director, Masters Table Tennis Academy (MTTA) and former international table tennis player. Bhushan has represented India 32 times in table tennis, and is an eight-time Maharashtra Men’s State Champion. He played in the Division 1 League in Sweden, and represented the senior Indian team in the World Table Tennis Championship.
“I was really happy to see the enthusiasm of the Cybage TT Clash teams. These kinds of professionally organised corporate tournaments help in the overall development of the sport. The great infrastructure, logistics and exciting prizes certainly boosts the morale of the players and motivates them to keep their passion going,” Thakur said.
Some of the participating companies were TCS, Accenture, Persistent Systems, Amdocs, HSBC, Zensar, Mphasis, Synechron and Fujitsu. The winners were given prizes worth Rs. 70,000 across five categories.
