Pune: Minor riding bicycle dies after collision

Police said that in the impact, Aniket’s head banged on the road such that it did not bleed but he died of an internal injury.

A MINOR boy died on Friday afternoon in Wadgaon Dhayari area after the bicycle he was riding while carrying two others collided with a car. Police have identified the deceased boy as Aniket Vishnu Kshirsath (14), a resident of Badade chawl in Dhayari Garmal. An offence has been registered at the Singhad Road police station against the deceased Aniket on charges of negligent driving.

Assistant police inspector J C Gadkari is probing the case. “Aniket was riding the bicycle triple seat. His friends Sujit Kale and Pavan Chavan were sitting behind him. While coming down the steep slope on the road near Rupdarshan Beauty Parlour in Dhayari at high speed, Aniket lost control and the bicycle went on to collide with a car coming from another side,” said Gadkari.

Police said that in the impact, Aniket’s head banged on the road such that it did not bleed but he died of an internal injury. Kale and Chavan also received injuries and were admitted to a hospital for treatment. Police said their situation was stable. Meanwhile, the car driver Nitin Khamgaokar (33) of Warje lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case.
