Pune engg institute celebrates World Telecom Day

The Institution Of Engineers,Pune,recently celebrated the 45th World Telecommunication Day.

As part of the celebrations,a talk was organised on ICTs and Improving Road Safety,which was the theme this year. Dr P L Joglekar made a keynote address on the topic that is of global concern.

A presentation on the work related to traffic control in the city using ICTs was also showcased by final year students of the Department of Computer Engineering.

Youth falls off train,dies

Nitin Dhiwar,20,a resident of Talegaon Dabhade,died after he fell off a moving local train on Monday. The railway police said Nitin was on his way to Pune and was standing at the door of the train when he lost balance and fell down near Kasarwadi railway station. The train was stopped and he was immediately rushed to YCM Hospital where he died later.
