THE PUNE Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML)’s decision to seek public opinion on the colour pattern of the buses that will be procured to operate on Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system and those feeding the corridor, has evoked a good response from citizens. According to PMPML officials, thousands have registered their preference by using the method of “giving a missed call” to the corresponding number.

Although the deadline for registering the opinion ends on Wednesday, it’s likely that it may be extended further after seeing the enthusiastic response from the citizens. “When we checked the numbers three days ago, as many as 10,000 people registered their preference of colours for the new buses. We are confident that by tomorrow the numbers must have doubled,” said Sunil Burse, Chief Engineer, PMPML.

The attractive colours are a part of the process to augment the services and branding of the buses, PMPML officials said.
