A 20-year-old history-sheeter from Bhosari was hacked to death by six people on Saturday evening over some old dispute. Vikas Laxman Mali, 20, was a resident of Pandavnagar and died soon after the assault at 6.30 pm in Ghavanevasti.
The police are on a lookout for the suspects. “We are on their backs and we’ll arrest them shortly,” said Ajay Bhosale, Inspector (Crime), Bhosari police station. According to the police, on Saturday evening Police Control Room received a call about an ongoing fight in Gavanewasti, Adinathnagar.
“After out teams rushed to the spot we found out that half-a-dozen men were assaulting the boy with sharp weapons. As soon as they saw the police, the men fled on their bikes,” said Bhosale, adding that Mali was rushed to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri where he died during treatment.
