Pune: 2 held for providing fake caste certificates at VIIT

A First Information Report in this regard has been registered by Shrirang Karkare of the VIIT against Dheeraj Pawar of Nashik and Pavan Jadhav of Jalgaon.

The Kondhwa police have registered an offence of cheating and forgery against two youth for allegedly submitting fake caste validity certificate for admission in engineering course at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT).

A First Information Report in this regard has been registered by Shrirang Karkare of the VIIT against Dheeraj Pawar of Nashik and Pavan Jadhav of Jalgaon. The two had taken admission at the institute in August. “The officer bearers from the institute filed an FIR after the forgery came to light during verification of documents. We have launched probe in the case. The two are yet to be arrested,” said investigating officer assistant inspector KB Pawase.
