Pune: 10-year-old girl ‘raped’ in Warje

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Warje area on Thursday.

An offence in this case has been registered at the Warje police station.

Police said that the girl lives with her parents in Atulnagar in Warje. She left home in the morning to go to a toilet. An unidentified person who was hiding in the bushes dragged her and then raped her.

The girl went home crying and narrated the incident to her parents. Soon the police was informed and the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, police found a motorcycle with a blank number plate near the crime scene. Also, the girl described the rapist to the police. Accordingly, the police have launched a search for the accused.
