Pune: Property owner booked after 2-yr-old dies inside water tanker

A 41-year-old resident of Hanuman Colony in Dighi has been booked on charges of causing death by negligence after a two-year-old boy fell into an underground water tank and died.

On Monday night, two-year-old Ashish Raju Jadhav fell inside the tank and died. According to Navnath Ghogare, senior police inspector with Dighi police station, the boy was playing near the tank and accidentally fell inside it. “Nobody noticed the boy until it was too late. He was rushed to the hospital but declared dead,” said Ghogare.

Police have registered a case against Sanjiv Thakur Singh, 41, under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code. Singh has not been arrested so far.
