Poll panel seeks report on complaint against Pawar

The state election commission has asked for a detailed report from Pune municipal commissioner on the alleged violation of the election code of conduct by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

The state election commission has asked for a detailed report from Pune municipal commissioner on the alleged violation of the election code of conduct by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The Shiv Sena had on Wednesday filed a complaint with the municipal corporation.

The complaint said Pawar had violated the code of conduct by laying the foundation stone for a flyover near Shivaji Nagar in Pune after 3.30 pm on Tuesday,when elections to the 10 municipal corporations were announced and the election code came into force.

“I have sought a report from the Pune commissioner on the incident. The report will have all details,after which we will be able to take a decision,” State Election Commissioner Neela Satyanarayan said.
