A special meeting of the PMPML board of directors will be convened on Friday to discuss Diwali bonus for its 9,000-odd employees. The meeting was convened in the backdrop of a statement by PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Tukaram Munde, who had said that no Diwali bonus would be given to the employees, as the transport undertaking was incurring huge losses. Seema Savale, chairperson of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Standing Committee, who is also one of the directors of PMPML board, said PCMC was ready to pay its part for the Diwali bonus. “We are ready to pay the required funds and we have learnt that the Pune Municipal Corporation, too, is also ready to pay its part,” she said.

Savale added that the issue will be discussed during the board meeting and a decision would be taken accordingly.
