Mankar had warned,“Many party activists have expressed their displeasure over Kalmadi’s photographs in party offices. Considering their feelings,I request you to remove the photograph of Kalmadi within four days and install photographs of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi. Otherwise party activists will remove the photographs of Kalmadi on their own.”

Mankar once a staunch supporter of Kalmadi came openly against him after he was asked to step down from the post of deputy mayor before completing his tenure.
