The Mahaparents association,an organisation working for parents’ rights in the city, will protest outside Millennium School on Friday over fee hike and various other issues.

In a press conference held here on Tuesday,Ajay Sathe, president of the association said,“We will protest against the detailed fee structure for Classes Nursery to X outside the school at 12 noon. Every year we pay thousands of rupees as fee,but we never get to know the amount collected under various heads such as admission fee, tuition fee.”

Dilipsingh Rana, secretary of the association spoke about the non-refundable fee collected by the school authorities. “The school collects a non-refundable amount from all parents during admission. This amounts to violation of Capitation Fees Act which states that a school cannot take any capitation fee,” Rana said. “We will also protest against the appointment of the parent teachers representative as it was done illegally”,Rana said adding that as per RTE,the Parent Teacher Association should be formed within 30 days, but it was formed in December. Despite repeated efforts,Millenium School authorities refused to comment on the issue.
