Om Dalvi Memorial tennis from Oct 26

PYC Hindu Gymkhana will host the fifth edition of the P&S Janvas Trophy Om Dalvi Memorial Under-18 Championship Series National Ranking Tennis tournament.

PYC Hindu Gymkhana will host the fifth edition of the P&S Janvas Trophy Om Dalvi Memorial Under-18 Championship Series National Ranking Tennis tournament under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association and the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association at the club tennis courts from October 26 to 31. The tournament is organised in the memory of Om Dalvi,a promising tennis player who died in 2009.

A total of 200 players from Delhi,Mumbai,Bangalore,Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka,Chandigarh and Orissa have confirmed their participation. The total prize fund for the event is Rs 1,00,000. The winner will be awarded a trophy and 25 ranking points,the runner up will get 20 points,semi-finalists stand to gain 15 points and quarter-finalists will walk away with 10 points. The tournament will be organised by the students of PYC Hindu Gymkhana. Tanaya Gosavi has been appointed as the AITA supervisor for the event. The tournament will be inaugurated on October 26 at 9am. The qualifying rounds will be held on October 26 and 27,while the main draw will be played from October 28.
