With municipal elections just about a month away, one can now keep a track of developments in city politics with just one click on a newly launched website.

City-based engineers Anand Jagtap and Swapnil Nahar started designing the website around two years back. The portal gives in-depth information about political parties,candidates,real-time updates and so on. The portal, which is in Marathi, has already started listing candidates from various panels along with the sitting corporators. A ticker on the portal gives latest updates.

“We have dedicated three to four people who sort news from news websites and upload them here. We have also tied up with a local Marathi channel for videos of political events that take place in the city. Currently, the site is being updated every two hours, but the frequency will increase after two weeks when the election season gains momentum,” Anand said, adding, the website will allow political party heads to create their profiles as on Facebook, where people can directly interact with them.

The portal also has a list of important links to various forms that are available online for caste verification, applications for inclusion of names in voters’ list and so on.

Anand said the website will continue to function even after elections. “It will have details of civic developments happening in the city along with other political updates,” he said. As of now,the duo have requested the city heads of various parties to publicise about this link on their respective Facebook profiles.

The duo has also been creating portals for public use. Their first portal was puneganeshfestival.com that gave details of all the manache ganaptis followed by two other portals on city education and medical services.
