His first half brace helps Loyola High School to victory over JN Petit

Hosts Loyola High School won both their matches on the fifth day of the invitational Loyola Football Cup 2013. The tournament is being jointly organised by Loyola High School and Ex Loyola Alumni (ELAN).

In the under-14 category,Loyola High School hammered three goals past JN Petit High School. Manas Nimhan opened the scoring for Loyola High School,scoring the first goal in the 11th minute. Seven minutes later,Nimhan again popped up to complete his brace. Soon after,Shreepad Dorge put his side 3-0 up,converting a sharp chance in the 21st minute. JN Petit School briefly threatened in the second half when Abhishek Khatri converted a penalty in the 41st minute. However,the Loyola High School defence held strong and warded off danger,securing a handsome 3-1 victory.

In the under-16 category,Loyola High School notched up another victory,this time seeing off SSPMS (Day) 2-1. Martin George gave Loyola High School a rousing start as he swept the ball home in the second minute of the game. After that,the game transformed into a physical affair with SSPMS (Day) desperate to find an equalizer.

Abhishek Sawant restored parity in the 23rd minute but Loyola High School had the last laugh as Aditya Thorat’s 25th minute goal put the tie to bed. In the other match in the under-16 category,St Vincent’s High School scored a comfortable 2-0 victory over Vidya Bhawan High School. Darshan Nadgonda opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Saad Shaikh’s 40th minute goal sealed victory for St Vincent’s High School.
