Mansingh Nigde and Madhu Kamat remained unbeaten for their respective teams as Jain Irrigation and Tech Mahindra won their league matches in the ABIL Inter Corporate Cricket Champions Cup at the Deccan Gymkhana on Sunday.
In a Group D match,Sakal Group won the toss and elected to bat first against Jain Irrigation,but they were dealt regular blows through the innings as they just managed to score 122 for five in the allotted 20 overs.
Ashwin Bhosale (36) and Vinayak Bawadekars unbeaten (28) scored maximum runs for Sakal Group,but Rahiv Mehra (three for 32) and Ghanshyam Choudhary (two for 23) snapped crucial wickets to restrict Sakal Group to a modest total.
Carrying on from where he left on Saturday,Mansingh Nigde began in a same vein with Mohsin Dodiya for company. Mansingh scored 59 not out in 24 balls with 10 fours and two sixes while Dodiya remained unbeaten on 52,scored off 32 balls with six fours and two sixes.
The two also shared second-wicket partnership of 103 runs,consuming only 47 balls as Jain Irrigation posted 126 for one in just 10.4 overs.
In the first match of the day,Tech Mahindra put Indian Overseas Bank in to bat and dismissed them for 72 after the IOB started with 10 players only. Madhu Kamat (42) and Rohan Manekar (29) needed only 30 minutes and 7.4 overs to score the winning runs.
