Since I had used second-hand equipment last year,I was unable to display my best performance in the world cup,but I have recently purchased state-of-the-art equipment for these games and I am confident of a good performance, she said, adding that she is also certain that Maharashtra would perform well. The experience that I and Jayalaxmi have will prove crucial. Aarti and Mridula have been performing well recently, she said. Gorle is from Nangaon Khandeshwar taluka in Amravati district,Maharashtra. She did her schooling in Nangaon Khandeshwar and is currently studying her second year B.Com in Bharatiya MahavidyalayaCollege,Amravati. She started her career in archery in 2001. She has been coached by Rashtrapati PuraskarWinner Sadanand Omkarrao Jadhav and is training at the Eklavya Dhanurvidya Academy,Nangaon Khandeshwar.
Many of the trainees at the academy come from poor backgrounds. We are not sponsored by anyone and thus cannot enjoy the benefit of practicing with good equipment. If some of the competitors were provided with the right equipment,I am sure they would have achieved more than I have till now. There are players like Vishal Dhavde,Vilas Marutrao,Sandeep Dofa,Anup Kakadeand Kirti Sarda, who have tremendous potential, she said. There is a good group of youngsters training at the academy. They should get the right guidance and proper facilities so that they can give their best performance, she added.
