Man,his parents sent to 3 years RI for harassing wife

A sessions court Saturday sentenced a man to three years of rigorous imprisonment for allegedly harassing his 24-year-old wife.

A sessions court Saturday sentenced a man to three years of rigorous imprisonment for allegedly harassing his 24-year-old wife. The woman’s mother-in-law and father-in-law were also given the same sentence. The sentence was given by additional sessions Judge G G Soni.

Mayuri Dulal,a resident of Bhavani Peth,had registered a complaint in May 2011 that the three had forced her to get Rs 2 lakh from her father to invest in a house.

A fine of Rs 3,000 was slapped on each of Mohan Sudhakar Dulal,30,his father Sudhakar Dulal and mother Sharda Dulal. On failing to pay the penalty,they will be jailed for another three months.

As per the prosecution’s case,Mohan and Mayuri got married in 2009. The couple have a son. Soon after marriage,her in-laws started harassing Mayuri. They demanded that she brings Rs 2 lakh for the construction of a house. Alleging that she is in an extra-marital affair,Mohan harassed her further.

Public Prosecutor P J Jadhav-Mane examined three witnesses to prove the accused guilty.
