Additional sessions judge S D Tekale Wednesday sentenced a man,convicted of carrying out a robbery,to four years’ rigorous imprisonment. Four other accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence.

Gogalsingh Badalsingh Kalyani (32),a resident of Ramtekdi,Hadapsar,was imposed Rs 5,000 fine. Indrajit Ramesh Jadhav (24) of Karad lodged a complaint. Additional public prosecutor Ujjwala Raskar examined eight witnesses.

The incident took place on April 28 last year. Jadhav and his friend Chetan Mokashi were standing near a paan stall in Hadapsar when Kalyani and his accomplices assaulted them. They also took Jadhav’s gold chain,ATM card,cash and a driving licence.

A patrolling team nabbed them and recovered the booty.
