Man booked for IT professional’s suicide in Pune

According to police, Harpreetkaur Bandesha had committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Sukasa Society in Wakad.

WAKAD police have booked a 30-year-old IT professional for alleged abetment to suicide of a 28-year-old woman, also an IT professional, who hung herself at her residence in Wakad on July 7. According to police, Harpreetkaur Bandesha had committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Sukasa Society in Wakad. Police launched an investigation and after recording statements of family members and acquaintances, have booked Niteshsingh Parihar, a resident of Zen Art Apartment in Wakad, a friend of Bandesha.

A First Information Report in this regard was registered on Saturday by Bandesha’s father Jogindarpal Singh, a resident of Nashik. Police said their probe has revealed that Bandesha ended her life due to physical and mental harassment by Parihar. Senior inspector NJ Shaikh said, “Bandesha was an IT professional and so is Parihar. He has been booked for abetment to suicide and criminal intimidation.” Parihar is yet to be arrested.
