Maharashtra: I-T raids continue in Baramati, Ahmednagar, dept to launch helplines

According to sources, also under scanner are some Chartered Accountants in Baramati, Pune and Thane who have been promising people that they will convert their black money into white.

The Income Tax (I-T) Department of Pune continued its raids for the second day and also moved further on to Baramati and Ahmednagar. In Pune, the department raided Rathod jewellers and a well known financier on Laxmi Road. In Baramati, a raid was conducted on Jyotichand Bhaichand Saraf and on a co-operative credit society in Ahmednagar.

According to sources, also under scanner are some Chartered Accountants in Baramati, Pune and Thane who have been promising people that they will convert their black money into white. The I-T Department is reportedly planning to crack the whip on them too.

The department is soon going to launch a toll free number, landline and mobile helplines at the earliest where people can call and let them know about individuals trying to lure them with such promises or give information on any illegal cash movements.
