Loyola High School,JN Petit seal semi-final berths

Hosts,Loyola High School and JN Petit Technical High School advanced to the semi finals in all the age groups at the invitational Loyola Football Cup 2013.

Hosts,Loyola High School and JN Petit Technical High School advanced to the semi finals in all the age groups at the invitational Loyola Football Cup 2013. The tournament is being jointly organised by Loyola High School and Ex Loyola Alumni (ELAN).

In the under-12 age group,Loyola High School played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with JN Petit Technical High School. Aryan Shukla gave JN Petit Technical High School the lead as he tapped in an accurate pass in the eighth minute. Pranav Kale equalized two minutes later and then gave his side the lead in the 20th minute. JN Petit’s Shukla then completed his brace and also brought his side on level terms,scoring in the 27th minute. Suryam Ghadge again put Loyola High School in the lead in the 30th minute before JN Petit’s Maitreya Awhad scored in the 48th minute to restore parity. In the other match in the under-12 category,Vidya Bhawan High School drew 1-1 with Gurukul High School.

In the under-14 category,Vidya Bhawan High School defeated Gurukul High School with a comprehensive 3-0 scoreline. Piyush Joshi,Shirish Varghese and Yuvraj Sawant scored one goal apiece for Vidya Bhawan High School.

In the under-16 category,JN Petit Technical High School scraped past Loyola High School on the strength of a solitary goal. Pranav Pardeshi’s strike in the 28th minute sealed the game for JN Petit as they advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament. In the other match in the same category,Vidya Bhawan High School and Gurukul High School played out a pulsating 3-3 draw. Utkarsh Singh gave Gurukul the lead in the sixth minute before Mitaan Patil doubled the advantage in the 12th minute. However,Vidya Bhawan came roaring back through Mehul Agarwal whose brace,with goals coming in the 22nd and 31st minute. Akash Waghmode gave Vidya Bhawan the lead as he converted a sharp chance in the 34th minute. Nikhil Ranawade broke Vidya Bhawan High School hearts in the 36th minute when he put the ball in the back of his own net.
