Bhusan Dhere and Vinod Limbore powered Pune City Police into the final of the third edition of the Late Devdas Shetty Monsoon memorial hockey league. With Dhere and Limbore scoring four goals each,Pune Police thrashed Railway Boys Club 8-0.
Dhere opened the scoring for the Pune Police in the second minute of the match and then added two more in the 12th and 31st minute. Limbore joined in on the act,firing in three goals in quick succession. Limbores first three goals came within three minutes and Pune Police took a 6-0 lead into the break. After the game resumed,Limbore and Dhere added a goal each to round off the scoring and put their team into the final.
In the second semi-final,RCF swagerred to a 5-1 victory over Prabhakar Aspat Academy. RCF,who over the course of the tournament have shown a penchant for scoring plenty of goals,did not disappoint. Yogesh Thakur gave Prabhakar Aspat Academy the lead in the 10th minute but Vijay Thapa,one of RCFs sharpest strikers,restored parity in the 34th minute and then gave his side the lead,scoring his second in the 40th.
Suhas Patil added another goal after a couple of minutes. Rahul Deokar then converted a penalty corner in the 44th minute before Manpreet Singh turned in a Ravi Pareek cross to log RCFs fifth goal.
RCF will play Pune City Police in the final match of the tournament on Wednesday at 3.30 pm at the Major Dhyan Chand hockey stadium.
