Job fair for differently abled students at Kamayani School

Last year,of the 1,000 candidates who had applied,420 passed the screening and 104 students finally got employment

A two-day job fair has been organised for disabled students at Kamayani School starting Thursday. Around 25 renowned IT and non-IT companies like Infosys,TCS and Dominos will take part in the fair organised by Kamayani Prashikshan and Sanshodhan society in collaboration with Sarthak Educational Trust,New Delhi.

“The 25 participating companies are among the best in India and abroad. This is the second time we are organising such a fair in the city. We expect more than 800 students to participate. Registration starts at 9.30 am on Thursday,” said Kalidas Supate,manager,Kamayani Udyog Kendra.

“There are two categories — physical disability and hearing impaired. For the former,Class 12 pass is the minimum criteria while for the latter,it is Class 10 pass. Candidates should carry all certificates of their disability as well as educational qualifications,” he said.

Last year,of the 1,000 candidates who had applied,420 passed the screening and 104 students finally got employment. “This time,we are anticipating similar participation. We hope that at least 200 students will be placed with various companies,” said Supate.

“The job fair was started by Jitendra Agarwal,the CEO of Sarthak trust. He was a dentist but lost his vision gradually due to a medical condition. He has organised 47 such fairs while this is the second in Pune. This will help disabled students who find it hard to get employed even after being qualified,” Supate added.
