On the occasion of the Holy Week, the Diocese of Pune and Jesuit Province organised an inter-religious dialogue on April 3 at Gulati hall,St Vincent’s Street,Camp. The theme of the talk was Religion and Morality. The Holy Week which begins on Palm Sunday and continues till Easter is a time for Christians to meditate on the sufferings of Jesus Christ. Followers from across the city attended the talk which tried to give different perspectives of religion. The welcome speech was delivered by Fr Bertie Rozario SJ. Bishop Thomas Dabre spoke about the Holy Week and said,“On Good Friday we commemorate the sufferings of Jesus. It’s a time to contemplate and meditate about his sacrifice. True religion means justice,we must work for that. Today the importance of morality can not be negated. We are staying in a time when corruption and fanaticism is growing as much as our economy is. More people are getting poorer everyday. The girl child’s condition is still the same. It’s a time to practise true religion and move towards peace.”
