Influx Cricket Cup: PYC ride on Kumar,Rathi’s efforts to post win

Harsh Kumar scored an unbeaten half-century and then Raunak Rathi snapped five wickets as PYC Hindu Gymkhana scored a smashing 86-run win against Nannaware Sports Foundation in the league match of the Influx Cricket Cup Tournament at the ILS Law College ground.

Nannaware Sports Foundation won the toss,but their decision to put PYC in to bat backfired as openers Harsh Kumar and Varun Lonkar went about hitting the bowlers all over the ground putting on 82 runs for the first wicket in 78 balls.

Kumar scored 58 not out in 59 balls with three fours,while Lonkar scored a 38-ball 42 with four fours as PYC scored 145 for one in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply to PYC’s total,the Nannaware Sports Foundation batsmen crumbled like a pack of cards as Raunak Rathi took five wickets giving away just 13 runs.

Rathi’s efforts were complimented by Shantanu Pratham,who took one wicket as Nannaware Sports Foundation were dismissed for 59 runs in 17 overs.

In the second match,Rajmata Jijau Krida Pratishthan defeated Pharande’s Cricket Academy by 25 runs as Om Sane and Mihir Killedar played major knocks before bowlers Sarthak Walke and Aryan Datta shared five crucial wickets between them to bowl out Pharande’s CA for 95 runs.

Put in to bat,Rajmata Jijau Academy rode on Sane’s 31 and Killedar’s 26 to post a modest 120-run total. The two shared 54 runs for the first wicket even as Ayush Firodiya who picked up three for 20 and Om Pharande’s two for 11 kept the batsmen quiet.

In the low-scoring match,Rajmata Jijau Pratishthan scored with tight bowling to beat Pharande’s CA.

Brief scores: PYC 145 for 1 in 20 overs (H Kumar 58 n.o,V Lonkar 42,A Dharmadhikari 24) beat Nannaware Sports Foundation 59 all out in 17 overs (M Gaikwad 13,S Kshirsagar 11; R Rathi 5/13,S Pratham 1/4).

Rajmata Jijau Krida Pratishthan 120 for 7 in 20 overs (O Sane 31,M Killedar 26,A Ingale 14; A Firodiya 3/20,O Pharande 2/11) beat Pharande’s Cricket Academy 95 all out in 19.1 Overs (V Alam 29 n.o,A Pachpande 14; S Walke 3/9,A Datta 2/16).
