IBPS relaxes eligibility norms for bank exam

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has eased eligibility criteria for aspirants of the common written examination held for the appointment of probationary officers and management trainees. The examination is scheduled for October.

On Monday,the IBPS issued a corrigendum in response to its advertisement dated July 10. Student bodies from Maharashtra and other states had protested against the change in IBPS criteria mentioned in the said advertisement.

As per the changed rules,the maximum qualifying age for the exam would be 30 years and not 28 as stipulated earlier. The IBPS has also done away with the mandatory requirement seeking a degree,diploma or certificate in computers or information technology from candidates as one of the subjects in high school.

The IBPS has extended the date for online registration and payment of fees by five days till August 17,while the deadline for payment of fees (offline) has also been extended from August 17 to August 22.
