Most city schools have achieved cent per cent results in the ICSE and ISC 2013 examinations,the results of which were announced online by the Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations,on Friday.
St Marys School grabbed the headlines with 131 of its girls scoring 90 per cent and above. Two of St Marys Anika Agrawal and Simran Khanuja have shined at the national level in ICSE examination by scoring 98.4 per cent.
In all,175 girls appeared for the examination this year,of which 38 have scored 80 per cent and above,while the rest have registered 70 per cent and above,school principal Sujata Malllic Kumar said.
Among other school toppers,Lipika Taneja (98%) stood second,while Ria Purandare,Manali Shah and Shourya Singh jointly grabbed the third position (97.8%),an official release said here.
In the boys section at St Marys School,Devashish Gokhale and Mihir Jain jointly stood first,with a score of 97.2 per cent,while Rohan Shrotri stood second with 97.0 per cent marks and Deven Gandhi third with 96.8 per cent marks.
In the ISC examination,of a total of 79 students 53 girls and 26 boys who appeared for the examination from St Marys School,30 students have scored 90 per cent and above,while another 33 above 80 per cent marks.
Sanjana Sekhar and Shubham Kabu from St Marys School have topped the Science stream with 97.3 per cent marks,while Sanchita Kashyap stood second in the Science stream with 95.0 per cent.
In the Commerce stream,Saakshi Kochar has topped with 96.0 per cent,followed by Aishwarya Bafna who scored 95.3 per cent marks.
The Bishops School,Camp,The Bishops Co Ed School,Kalyaninagar and The Bishops Co Ed School,Undri have scored 100 per cent result in ICSE 2013 examination,while The Bishops Junior College,Camp,has also registered cent per cent result in ISC examination.
Shardul Parab (97.4%),Tanmay Jadhav (97.2%),Ajeya Rengarajan and Gaganjeet Singh Reen (both 96.6%) are among students from Bishops schools who have excelled in ICSE examination.
From Bishops Junior College,Camp,Sagnik Mukherjee (95.75%)has topped in the Science stream,Aarav Vij (94%) in the Commerce stream,while Chandrima Das in the Arts stream (91.75%).
It is indeed gratifying that our students have kept our banner flying high and have done our Institutions proud, Bishops CEO Frank Freese said.
Vidya Valley School students have also excelled in the ICSE examination,with Saylee Dharne turning out to be school topper with 94.2 per cent,followed by Sumedh Sontakke (94%) and Chaiti Bhagwat (93%).
Our students have done very well and the entire school is proud of their performance. Our teachers have prepared them well and most importantly made students learn to take exams in their stride without taking undue pressure, School Principal Nalini Sengupta said.
However,it was an all girls show at Pawar Public School,Hadapsar,with Dipti Kulkarni (95.5%),Prerna Jain (94.8%) and Ann Elizabeth (94.5%) securing first,second and third place respectively in ICSE examination.
A total of 33 students appeared for the ICSE exam and the school achieved hundred per cent results, School principal Anjali Gujjar said.
Around 1.5 lakh students appeared for the ICSE,while 60,000 for the ISC examination this year,which were held on February 27 and February 4 respectively.
